Thanks everyone who expressed their support on my previous blog! The closer I get to getting there, the more people here realize that it wasn't just a line to make me look cool. This is what i want to do.
Today: I am finishing questions for my recuiter to complete my paperwork.
Tomorrow: I am trying to remain calm and study for the ASVAB. I really don't have to, I made a 94 on the first one I took and a 91 on a practice one, but I have a rivalry going on with my dad. He was going to join the AF, but I was born....
Wednesday: I have my drug test
Thursday: ASVAB
Friday: MEPs
I'm starting to truly wrap my head around the fact that this is starting to happen and I'm not sure if I am nervous, or overwhelmed, or scared. But its such a rush of emotions mangled with so much todo that I keep repeating to myself to be calm, be poised, be confident, and make it to saturday.
I'll say this though... since I've started really working out, It has been a great way to handle the stress of all that is going on.

Concretecowboy — Tue, 2010-03-16 08:33This beginning of your life is a big, big step. Please be very aware that you always have choices (no matter what the recruiter says) and that control of your own life is the number one goal.
After Vietnam ('69) I was assigned as a testing specialist for the Armed Forces Entrance and Examination Station in Seattle and than Los Angeles. The time was different because of the draft but the recruiters are the same. Always, always remember - You control your life!
Want to be an officer? You control that choice! Want to work embassy duty? You have that choice? Want to simply cook? The choice is yours!!! Simply apply yourself and read - read - read! The regulations are all there. In fact, if you tell your recruiter that you want to study up on the regulations that govern anything in the Marine Corps, he should say OK and point you in the right direction. If he does not, than you need to suspect his ability and sincerity of helping you. His goal in life is to recruit and that is ALL his goal! Not yours...
Umphh... I tend to go over the deep end when someone starts a life as you are doing. But I want you to know in your heart - you make us proud. This adventure is your life and your choices are unlimited. Being a United States Marine is a special purpose in life and your training will make you an American of high standard. Pass it on and keep us posted... Thank you.
You will do great!
Cowgirl at heart — Mon, 2010-03-15 15:10You will do great! A 94 no sweat! Like I said before, I will keep you in my thougths and prayers.
