COWBOY CASANOVA or DESPERADO?
Concretecowboy — Thu, 2010-02-25 15:33
Recently a blog was posted from a cowgirl that told of being hurt by an outlaw that had no respect for young ladies and their hearts. Now this old cowboy left her an encouraging word to not give up on all cowboys because of one rotten apple. It just would not be right.
I am glad to hear she responded, 'she will climb back on that saddle and not quit riding the range of love'. Now the question arose, was she alone? I would find that hard to believe if you listen to country music. There is probably a stampede of broken hearts and lonely riders on this range and I wondered if perhaps somewhere within the AC, I could find a place to advise and support with my past experiences of being a 'Cowboy Casanova'?
This is not a brag. I will be the first to tell you that I was on the wrong side of the fence in respects to love. I was an outlaw in the dance halls of the 80s and many a time found a decent cowboy ready to put out my lights when I finished two-stepping with his sweatheart. I learned my lessons the hard way.
From cowboys that drew down on me, to cowgirls that stomped my heart into the dust of a rodeo dance, I moved from casanova to 'Desperado' and have no problem being a sage of the heart.
''Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no youger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone
Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're loosin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?"
Please, let me or the AC know how you would feel about a place to not only mend fences but perhaps mend a heart or two.
Thanks and always remember the Code to treat every woman as you would your own mother or sister, with respect and Love...

A PARDNER IN LIFE
Concretecowboy — Mon, 2010-03-08 19:53No other fact of human life affects our world more than the 'pardner' you go through life with. And no other fact of your choice of 'pardner' in life can have more of an impact on you and the society you live in. It is a responsibility and maybe a burden that we all go through life with. It can be heaven or it can be hell.
You may choose to work in the city or the country. You may choose to work blue collar or white collar. You may choose to have children or not. You may choose to live alone or with someone. The biggest choice that will have the most affect on your life is who you choose to be with.
Is there a road map to find this person? No.
Is there a magic book that shows you this person? No.
It is a decision that we stumble into and a decision that we often fail to consider. We often just do it and pay the price later. The fact is, we often spend more time picking out our boots than we do our 'pardner' in life. Just look at the AC interest in boots! Hey, interesting question; do you spend more time on the boots than you do your 'pardner'?

Thank You
Concretecowboy — Fri, 2010-02-26 08:39Thank you, bldambtn. Writing has always been easy for me. It was why I went to college and got a degree. But as life can do, children and commitments led me to do the right thing (?) of a career (30 years) with a major corporation. Now retired, I find myself writing more and more. Hopefully something can come of it.
Again, thank you. I really enjoyed reading your experiences and hope to see more of your adventures with cowboys?
Aww I think that would be a
