Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build a bridge even where there is no river.

Have you heard of the 'Political Industrial Complex'? It is any union, big business, lobbyists, community activist, political party, etc etc that supports and controls your elected officials.
Now, Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us of the "Military Industrial Complex" but he said nothing of the 'Political' industry we now have that controls our elected officials. He may have been a part of it or he just did not know what our country would become. He did not see the tax and spend, tax and spend that has taken over our lives. And he probably held to the belief that our two party system presented a choice. Wow, was he wrong.
Career politicians are all the same. No matter what political party - they are all the same when it comes down to being controlled by the 'Politicla Industrial Complex'. They do not represent you when they become career politicians - THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. They all know each other and they all perform deals to get what the 'industry' wants from them. And they ALL do not care what the tax and spend does to you as long as the 'industry' can get them re-elected. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME.
And as long as you remain loyal to your political party and as long as you think your party is 'right' - NOTHING WILL CHANGE. The only way to destroy this 'industry' that has taken hold of your governments is to - NEVER, NEVER VOTE FOR AN INCUMBENT. Never make a career politician who owes allegience to the 'Political Industrial Complex' and has the tax and spend mentality. Do not divide your vote by thinking right or left and do not lose sight that they are all the same once they become career politicians.
It is the only way to take back control of your elected officials -- NEVER, NEVER VOTE FOR AN INCUMBENT.

Agreed
dCarter — Wed, 2010-01-13 15:25I have to agree with you. I don't understand how politicians can say they are in touch with the American people. They don't live like American people. They live in their own little world. I mean that quite literally. Serving as a politician should be a privelage. It should be an honor to represent a group of people and not a job. Anybody who can vote on their own raise amount has more privelages than they deserve. They should only be paid enough to compensate for their time and travel. Not to provide expensive vacations and private jets. I'm with you, voting for an incumbent is just allowing that politician dig themselves in deeper.
Serving should be a privelage
Concretecowboy — Wed, 2010-01-13 18:59Thanks dCarter. When you read about the founding fathers who wrote the U.S. Constitution you see men who were farmers, bookeepers, shop owners and just plain ordinary citizens. They did not want to be governing officials. They respected their fellow citizens and did not feel they were a class above the citizens they represented. They definately did Not want to be career politicians controlled by a 'Political Industry'. I am serious about this - the only way to now change what has happened in our elected form of governments is to - NEVER, NEVER VOTE FOR AN INCUMBENT. It is the only way to stop career politicians from thinking they are princes or kings over us... Our forefathers had a revolution they died in. We simply need to vote straight across the ticket - NO MORE INCUMBENTS - NO MORE CAREER POLITICIANS - NEVER, NEVER VOTE FOR AN INCUMBENT.
