Interview with Dana Delany about Tombstone
Desert Goddess — Sat, 2011-05-28 23:24
Dana Delany as Josie Marcus
This weekend, Tombstone, Arizona hosts Wyatt Earp Days. It's the perfect time to explore this legendary town, visit the Bird Cage and see the OK Corral. The city of Tombstone still brings to mind rowdy cowboys, the Earp brothers, and the gunfight at the OK Corral. When the movie Tombstone was released in 1993, the spirit of the old west was reborn in a miraculous way that touched our souls. The incredible portrayal of these historic characters and the events they lived through was rich and revitalizing.
The talented and glamorous Dana Delany was very gracious to share her thoughts and experiences during the filming of Tombstone. Dana played the role of Josephine (Josie) Marcus, the young beautiful and confident actress that makes her entrance in Tombstone by stagecoach.
The moment her eyes lock with Wyatt Earp’s, we feel their strong mutual attraction. Dana brought Josie to life in a spectacular way, and she is drawn to playing complex characters. She makes it look easy, however the filming of this masterful movie was complicated. What Dana claimed was her biggest challenge during filming, might surprise some.
