Last Monday I went to the court hearing with my mom for the guy's trial who killed my grandparents in a car accident almost two years ago. I learned that day this guy just has some nerve. Not only did the guy stare at my family continuously throughout the court proceeding, he also walked by us non-stop and had the nerve to stand next to us when he would walk back past. It took all my self-control not to say something to this guy at this point because it was really upsetting my mom and aunt. If this guy showed any remorse at all for the precious people he took from us then I could feel maybe less animosity towards this guy. But I have heard from more than one source that he does not care about his causing their deaths, and that he has repeated to any that would listen that "he ate a steering wheel and those two old people just weren't tough as him." I know the Bible says that you have to forgive and that vengeance is the Lords. Yet I find it hard not to want to cause this guy pain. So I have been praying that God help me with this and help me not to be bitter about this...though it is hard! Even if he does not care about what he did, he could at least show us some respect and leave us alone. In my opinion he has nerve to even look our way. I know that even if he does manage to somehow get off for causing this tragedy he will someday meet his maker (whether he believes in him or not) and justice will be served in some form. The result of last Monday was that the trial was continued yet again because this time the DA that is handling the case has been sick and has not had the chance to do what she needs to do and call the people she needs to appear in court. So we will go through the same thing in July on the 26th apparently. I'm going to have a talk with the lady that represents the victims to see what we can do about his staring problem and his proximity issues. My daddy is going to be there this time so if nothing else that will be cause enough for the guy to leave us be. I'm praying that justice will be served in some way and there will be a price paid for the loss of my grandparents.
