Recently I purchased a new saddlepad and neoprene girth. So one nice sunny day I went out to the barn and saddled ol' CherokeeSun up to try out the new struff.

Went out to the barn this morning to give my horses some hay since all the've had for the last couple of days is wet pasture to graze on because of all the rain we've had. As I was laying the hay out for them I just happened to glance at a corner of the small barn. And lo and behold there was a wasp nest about 1/3 the size of a football covered with moving busy wasps !

Well now.....I've been retired now since the end of March. And I mean retired from not only my 40 hr a week job but also from the Air National Guard. I thought , oh yeah ! ...now I'll have enought time to do ALL the stuff that needs to get done on my place. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!

Sometimes ya just gotta say something about saddle'n up early in the mornin' and headin'n out. This mornin'n was one of those.

Here in NE Tennessee I'm blessed to live snuggled up to the Appalacian Mtns. When I got up this morning the air was cool, the sky was an incredible blue with huge white clouds drifiting along at a snails pace and the land covered in the most intense green.

I hate flies. I hate flies. I hate flies. Just so that there is no misunderstanding, I hate flies. I hve tried different methods for fly control. But my neighbor on the other side of the fence has about 20 head of cattle and it seems that no matter what I do I can't seem to get the fly thing under control.
