I unplugged theheater in the horses water tank last Saturday. Since then the sun has been out every day and the temps have climbed from the 50's to almost 70 today. I don't think I'll have to plug the heater in again until late next fall.

Unfortuntately with the warm weather the algae has gone beserk. In the last few days the bottom and sides half way up the tank are now green. This means I'll have to dig around for the scrubbing brush I normally use not to mention I'll have to bend and stretch to reach the bottom of the tank just so I can scrape and scrub the gunk out. Oh yeah, let's not forget removing the heater , cleaning and storing it too.

Ah, well, I was only going to go riding this weekend anyway and I know my horses will undoubtedly appreciate my efforts to provide them nice clear water.

Now if only the grass in the pasture would take off so I could cut down on the amount of hay I use. Then I'll know Spring is truely here !
