Western or Country ?

I was thingking about the latest poll on this site. I thought , well, who is considered western and who is considered country. And hasn't " it " been called Country Western for the longest time now ?

I mean, when you think of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans don't you automatically think of Western ? And when you think of Johnny Cash and June Carter don't you think of Country ?

And what about Waylon, and Willie ? And what about so many others that sing both types of music. And what about Freddie Fender ? When he sings " Before The Next Teardrop Falls " , even though he sings some of the lyrics in Spanish you KNOW exactly what he is singing about.

So I think I'm going to pass on this poll. To me it is all about that special genre , Country Western. Uniquely American.
