An Ode to Wheels

Ok, it was a pretty dippy television show, but the Dukes of Hazzard (1979-1985) did have some real musical credibility. Yes, testosterone, horsepower, and an eye full of Daisy Dukes inspired two country greats.
We all know that Waylon Jennings wrote the theme song "The Good 'Ol Boys" (now a popular ring tone) and that he served as the show's narrator, but did you know that Johnny Cash recorded a song about the General Lee, the Duke's 1969 Dodge Charger? It's called the "General Lee" (what else?) and is a pretty decent piece of music for being about a car.
