I stow the shears and often grow a beard in winter to stay warm, but this is something completely different... A new reality television show debuts tomorrow (August 5) on IFC about "competitive facial hair growing" called "Whisker Wars." Set your TIVO!

The National Beard & Mustache Championships will be held in Lancaster, P.A. on October 8, with winners competing in the WORLD Beard & Mustache Championships in Norway this spring. (Check out the website here: worldbeardchampionships.com) Apparently, Whisker Wars will follow the “training” of competitors. Cowboys, on the other hand, have long been known for their whiskers. One of ours deserves to win these events!
