Oklahoma in my rear view mirror

Anyone want a ranch?
Well the time has finally come to get me home for good. I have most of my places sold here in WV and I gave notice on my job to head west. I will miss the boys on the ranch where I work, but I feel I made a difference and time moves on. We are finally getting to NM the end of July for two weeks to find a new home there. Our ranch in OK is gorgeous, but we can't take it with us.
The Heart of a Cowboy

It's been awhile since I could take some time for this site. I'm still back and forth between WV and OK. My trips home keep me grounded in the western life that I love. As the clinical director of a boy's ranch, I realize even more that the spirit of the west and our cowboy values are something to preserve and pass on.
Happy Easter

The significance of the holiday is so pronounced when away from those you care for. My hope is that everyone is with those they love and realize how important that is. I would have loved to have been home in OK helping string hotwire today and straightening fences. What a small thing to wish for. Tomorrow GC is going to help with our friend's cattle then have a good meal at their house.

Runaway Buford
After a long winter in WV, Spring has finally come ( at least for now). GC is back at the ranch workin out the kinks in his rope and gettin our place ready to sell. We are movin on to New Mexico. We've heard the area south of Albuquerque on the continental divide is great weather so we're plannin a road trip to explore. Anyone else out there tired of fences.

Patience and teamwork
This darn WV snow just won't go away. I figured after a couple 40 degree days I could at least get to see my grass again, but NO, I still have to wade 2 feet of snow just to get to the woodpile. My pygmy goats here in WV, Milly and Tilly, are belly deep in this stuff, and wantin grass more than I do. GC is back home babysittin critters and tryin to keep everything hummin along in OK.

Bob our pet steer
Still knee deep in WV snow and wishin I was home. It's a wonder I get any work done on my job as a counselor of all things thinkin about a cowboy and furry critters back home. If my boss only knew. As I have time to think on the more humorous lessons I've learned on our ranch I will pass them on to anyone who cares to read. They're numbered in case you want to refer back.
