My property is on Highway 74 in a little community called Meadowbrook. The area consists of mostly nurseries, small horse ranches and other agricultural oriented properties. The last couple days it has been in the triple didgets and it is almost always a very dry heat. Hard to work in and generally just miserable.

Last evening around 6:00 PM the clouds rolled in on a heavy wind and the thunder roared and lightening cracked. The temperature didn't drop much but it was sure exciting. Just enough rain to dust things off.

My horses all freeked out and the lightning started a few grass fires. It seemed like most all of them were out by this morning or at least under control. My power was out for a while and that was the worst of the damage.

Anyway, it was exciting and just reminded me of one of my favorite songs when sung by Hank III called Thunderstorms and Neon Lights.
