Putting hand to horse for the first time
socalwild — Tue, 2010-06-15 20:28
Hi Sierra
I touched my horse for the first time today. Thats not exactly true. I have slapped her when she wasn't watching and fed her from my hand a time or two. But today she let me reach out and touch her. She is a 3 yo Mustang Mare I adopted a year or so ago. By the time I was finished with her I was rubbing and brushing her face, belly and hind quarters. What a rush. This 15 hh sorrel mare has remained as wild and stuborn as she was the day I brought her home. But today we looked eachother in the eyes and I knew something was different. She was ready. I cant wait to go back at it tomorrow. I will try the halter and work with her feet a little. What a feeling!
