My grandparents accomplished what many would call the American dream. They were nowhere near immigrants, they were hard working, blue collar Americans who strove to give their children more than they had. My grandfather, or D-Daddy as I called him, was a line worker at the local rubber factory. My grandmother, Mammajean, was a nurse at the local hospital.
