THE LAST NAIL:
TALL IN THE SADDLE — Sat, 2010-01-09 17:50
Hi all TALL IN THE SADDLE here writing yet another blog. Frist off let me take this time to thank those of you who have read my last one as well as those of you who took the time to comment on it. I hope this one has the same responce. I was thinking of what gos into building a fence or a barn or even a house for that matter. The planing the clearing of ground the supplies needed. Its alot of hard work, but you do it no matter what stands in the way. I think about how it must have been 100 plus years ago. It was even harder. Can you imagin not being able to do anything without power tools(that includes battry powered ones as well)it would make a hard job that much harder. Well let me change gears here and get to what I have to say. In this great country today we are faced wiith things that I never thought we wolud have ever seen before us. Now I know that old man greeds been here a long time. Just read the BIBLE and youll see pleanty of it but look at us as a whole. We have so much and yet we want more and more and more. We are like little childern in a giant toy store. When is enough enough? We want so much that we are sending jobs over seas just to keep up with our wants. When will it end? when will we get sick of this give me give me mantailty and get back to the simple way of just taken what we NEED! and not what we want. There are bad winds blowing and I afrad of whats about to show its face. We need to PRAY for a change and trun from our ways. Its like that fence I was talking about. What a hard job but what a relefe to hammer that Last Nail. Whats going to be our Last Nail will it be when another country saids so or are we going to be strong enough to stand up and say "THIS IS OUR LAST NAIL".

Things are definitely
La_cowgirl21 — Sat, 2010-01-09 19:40Things are definitely different now days. Years ago everything was done by hand. It may have been hard but it lasted and it was a product of their own hard work. People definitely took better care of their stuff then because you couldn't just run out to the store and get a new one. They appreciated what they had then. Ive seen cabins in Cades Cove (National park in Tn) that were built over 100 years ago and it was all by hand and some of them are still standing. Sure they have to keep them up but thats any house. Things may have been hard then but they made due with what they had and did what they had to to survive.

The Last Nail
McLintock — Sat, 2010-01-09 18:22I would have to agree with all you say here. Building a house is a very hard thing (if you are building it by your self, but that was the way it was back in the day). I have helped my dad and grandfather build their houses and I know what goes in to it. We do not see this comment any more, because people these day want their stuff right now and not wait. I hope there is a lot of people like us who will not stand of this lazy life. I think our Last Nail here in America is it own people who do not care about their country, and see's America as another country on the U.N role call.
