In the small Texas town of Bellville, traditions and heritage are kept alive through the dedication of the Bellville Heritage Cowgirls. They consist of women of all ages who came together with a purpose of horseback riding that turned an Equestrian Drill Team into a National Championship.

Michelle Crite is the owner and designing artist behind “Red STAR Riggings” a new upcoming line of Western Hats. These fashionable hats quickly become the admiration of any cowboy or cowgirl. At the 2009 Houston Stock Show and Rodeo, Noel Orsak wore her custom hat by Red Star Riggings. Her new hat became the fancy of everyone she talk too.

May of 1865, General George Armstrong Custer had completed his US Civil War duties and was ordered to Texas to command a division of US Cavalry. Texas was of vital importance during reconstruction preventing the possible invasion of Emperor Maximilian’s Army from moving across the Mexican border.

The nostrils flared open wide. The white of the horse’s eye could be seen with the anticipation of commands from the reins. The ears rolled back as the hoofs begin into the galloping race. The echo of thunder rolls as the rider draws with their Cimarron .45 in hand blazing through squeezing off the first of five rounds from the pistol.
