Summer in Montana! Sue Reynolds, fine art/documentary photographer, premiers her acclaimed “Understanding Native People” photography exhibit at The People’s Center Museum on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Pablo, Montana on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Whirling dancers, powwow drums, ritual objects, portraits and environmental shots are nearly 30 images of contemporary Indian celebrations and culture from across the American West. The People’s Center is celebrating its 20th Anniversary and Reynolds is honored to be showing her work during Powwow. The photographer will give an Artist’s Tour of the exhibit on June 28th during a free opening reception at The People’s Center, from 5pm to 7pm. Her behind-the-scenes stories include Native American perspectives from many tribes, including the Salish, P’end d’Oreille, Kootenai, Crow, Nez Perce and Lakota peoples. Admission is free.
