I thought this topic would take off and there is not a single post.

In my doterage i love to just trail ride. I don't even mind riding the same trails over again because mother nature always gives me something new to look at.

as i have gotten older it is more important to just be out there with my horse doing what I have loved all my life even if I can not do it well like I used to.

I have joined a group called the poor peoples riding club and we go on a group trail ride at one of the public venues around every month. We have not been out since thanksgiving becasue of the awful rain mud and snow conditions we have locally. So looking forward to the march ride.

we ride for three or four hours and then have a pot luck lunch and it is great fun. enjoy my horse and great company too.

Just found it

Jim I'm with you. But I gave up belonging to these rideing clubs when I came to Az. Here where we are they are few and far between. Here unlike Wa. where we came from in 04 and many other places, we don't trail ride persay. We just take off in any direction and whitch ever way those long ears flop is where we go.

As you'll guess from my name

As you'll guess from my name I'm not from your parts! I had the privilege of living and working in the West last year when I discovered trail riding. I'm now back in England but can't get enough of it - there's nothing better than heading out into some of the beautiful country we have here in the North of England and going where your mount takes you.
I've been lucky enough to find a like-minded set of friends who love Western riding (increasingly popular here in the UK) and share my love of open spaces and slower pace of life.
