What is the best concert you have been to?
I recently went to an Alan Jackson concert at the River Center in Baton Rouge. It was my first ever concert. That man puts on a great concert and was worth going to!

Chris Ledoux in Cheyenne, for the books.

I am really bummed I was not able to see Chris Ledoux in concert. I love his music, I have heard great things about him.
He was a hell of a guy, both as an artist and as a human being. I saw him a bunch of times, each time it was like it was the very first. Just an amazing show.
Got every single song he ever put out, I think, his stuff may not be what CMT likes to play, but it's for sure what I like to play, simple and real.
I could go on and on about Chris, inspirational stuff.

I have been to Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Brad Pasley. I have to say the Garth did a pretty good job, Tim McGraw, I like him a lot he is very down to earth. I am actually going to see his Southern Voice Concert in May. Brad Pasley. What can I say he can play an outstanding guitar!

I got to throw in a shout for the Charlie Daniels Band. I've seen him only twice but its always good to see such a talented group makin that kind of sound. Its also amazing they have toured as long as they have, I think they may still be doing shows, that guy is gettin old!

Tuesday night I went to a local place here in Baton Rouge called the Texas Club that regularly has some country singers tour there. We heard Eric Church there that night. He did a pretty good job. Most ask what does he sing, the most recent hit he has had is I love your love the most. Josh Thompson opened up for him and he did a decent job as well.

for me, has to be George Strait...that was some of the most fun I've ever had, another good show I went to was Shooter Jennings, he sounds just like his dad and seemed to put all he had into it.
Kid Rock at Greeley Stampede.
I've been to see Alan Jackson and Vince Gill. They both put on good shows. The best concert ever was ZZ Top... I saw them in Pensacola, Florida... They put on an awsome show....

Well, at the risk of dating myself, I must confess I attended the original Live Aid concert in Philadelphia way back in the day. Was it '84 or maybe '85? When you have virtually everyone in rock and pop playing on two stages in one day it's kind of hard to beat.
That having been said, Kid Rock at the Greeley Stampede last summer was amazing. The guy brings it from the get go and when it started raining, and raining hard, his band members kept going from the back covered part of the stage and Kid Rock just ripped his shirt off and came out to the very front. He tore it up and the crowd loved it. It had the feel of a revival, to be honest, combined with a rock concert. One of the best I've ever seen.
And it was even better having "warmed-up" at the Greeley Hatworks/American Cowboy pre-party that afternoon!

I'm primarily a country music fan, but I'll do a rock'n'roll concert... if all the conditions are right (the Stones, for example, Wichita, 2006!).
But the best country concert I've attended was Mr. Joe Diffie (in Dodge City!) about 5 or 6 years ago. Diffie has an excellent voice and a slew of hits, and he didn't dissapoint at this concert. I just wish he was back on current country radio, with new music. Unfortunately, the trend in country radio is youngsters (think Taylor Swift) who are more "pop" than true country. Kinda makes you wish for the 90's when Chesnutt, Brooks and Jackson ruled the airwaves, doesn't it? Nothin' wrong with the current batch of hit-makers, but there's not many country voices on the charts these days, save Jamie Johnson or Jason Micheal Carrol.
Other highlights... Waylon Jennings at an outdoor concert in Oklahoma in '81... no security checks and coolers welcome. But empty beer bottles soon began flying thru the air, landing on men's heads (who weren't wearing cowboy hats) in the stage-front section, who were meanwhile boogying down while bleeding from being struck by the empty bottles (gasp!, yeah the good old days of concert-going!). Also, a Pirates of the Mississippi concert (remember them?) who blended rock and country as an opening act for Chris LeDoux (one of my all-time favorites).
Aaaaahh, the good old days
*wink*.
I have been to a lot of concerts because I love going to fairs. It is the best way to see a concert and often times the least expensive. The price of concerts has gotten out of hand.
I have seen Dwight Yokum, Tobey Keith, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Rebba, Chris, Kenny, Martina, George Jones, Alabama, Asleep at the Wheel, Brad and Faith, etc etc - the list goes on and on. But this is due more to going to fairs than actually wanting to pay for a concert to see an entertainer. My biggest regret was never seeing Elvis. I did see Janice Joplin, 9th row center, though.
What was the best? It would have been Chris LeDoux in a very small theatre. He was the best and will be missed...
I went to a Garth Brooks concert on his last tour. He was amazing! I went with high expectations and I wasn't dissapointed. I think he's probably one of the better entertainers in country music.
Happy Birthday Ray Price
I only been to a couple, George Strait, he was pretty good. But I have seen Chris LeDoux twice, and he knew how to put on a show. I have to say when I seen him both times was at the American Royal Rodeo here in K.C., and seeing a concert at a Rodeo is the best. I also been to others that was not worth the money.

I know what you mean. Thats how it was with Alan Jackson. He was worth it, but the group Gloriana who opened for him was not! i'm sorry they are just not country to me. Just my opinion....
