Thought this would be a fun topic to get a conversation started. What are your favorite places to visit in the West and why? Also, what historical Western locales do you find most interesting?

Favorite places in the west

I love most of Utah, Central Arizona Highlands, Northern Rockies are great too. My top place however is got to be the Eastern Sierra Owens and Mono Vallys. The mix of high Desert, towering granite peaks and small homey towns is great. I love the smell of sagebrush and warm afternoon rains in August. I love the rutted dirt roads that lead to places so spectacular you can't believe someone hasn't built a hotel there already. Thats my thought on favorite places anyone else care to comment?
