So my house is sitting on five acres and there was a school built close by. Our taxes went up by like 1000 dollars and a friend of the family advised us that if we wanted them to drop our taxes we would have to basically label our land as ranch. We have had goats, cows, and sheep before but its been a while. So they said if you want it to be ranch land you have to have 10 goats, 2 cows, and atleast a horse. The cows and goats were brought over from my grandfathers land and now s friend of my father brought a horse over. I really would like to basically take ownership of the horse since the owner never comes and checks on the horse or anything. What should i feed it, groom it? I really have been thinking of taking over this "ranch land" and taking care of the animals myself and become a farmer or rancher. I want to buy my own horse and raise it myself since the one we have is grown. Where could I buy one? A new born. HELP!
