James Arness of tv's Gunsmoke fame in which he played the sheriff marshall Matt Dillon has died. The show at one time was the longest running primetime show for eleven years or so. He was Peter Graves brother of the Mission Impossible series. I really did not watch James' show, but I did watch his brother's show. James was also the character benind all the make-up in the original The Thing. He will certainly be missed by his family and fans. It is always sad when a cowboy rides that final ride into the sunset. Rest in peace James.
