Local or Not
I love to go to the Rodeo, but there is a difference in local rodeo's and "big time" rodeo's. My question is which do you like better local or the big rodeo's. My self I like the local rodeo's better, it does not have the crowd, and you see young talent.

I live less than an hour from the reno livestock events center so I got few excuses for missin that every year. Its big fun for sure. But I do kinda lean towards the rest of you, the smaller ones, like county fairs, and when the prca hits the small towns. It makes a spectator feel like your part of it, like a neighbor invited you to his backyard party. I love em, but still couldnt do without a big one now and again, for the roar factor if nothing else.

First, if it were not for the "small time" rodeos, there would be no "big time" ones. A person has to start somewhere, and that is at the local rodeos.
I believe rodeo itself has lost much. It as become big business, not a sport as it was originaly.
I like the working cowboy rodeos and the small local ones. They just have more of the feeling of being for sport and fun, not just big bucks.
My real favorites are the junior rodeos. I love to see those little kids get out thate.
nothing like seeing the hometown heroes at the local rodeo.
Big rodeos. Bigger payouts, more fans. we want to hear the crowd roar so we know we aren't busting our butts for nothing! The local rodeos I've been to have been poorly organized, small payouts, and in general, a waste of time. Poor crowds, and when there is a big crowd, they sit there quiet and don't get into it.
well i have never been to a big time rodeo so i like local ones the best
I like them both. The "big time" seems to be more organized and has a much faster pace. But ,there is something about the local rodeo that seems to have more of a heart beat - personable.

I really have to agree with liking the local rodeos and getting to see young talent. You always can tell who is the better ones and who could make it all the way.But I also have to say that I really like the "big rodeos" they have so much more energy than the local rodeos and can sometimes be really really awesome! So I'd have to say that I really like both of them.

Here in this little towmn of 4500 we have a fairly new rodeo grounds and the rodeos are like the ones you used to go to fifty years ago. We have at least two big ones a year and then we have outr Cody Hancock invitational bull ride. I like the big shows but truely prefer the local shows.

I enjoy the local rodeoes. It's more fun for me watching the local cowboys, and it has a more country feel to it. Don't get me wrong,I've been to the WNFR,and Cheyenne, and those were wonderful ,but it's like going to watch a pro football or baseball game, good entertainment, but at the end you just go home. Most times at the local level, there's a dance,or a bbq, where it has that home feel to it

Around my area I guess it just depends. The local rodeos are fun to go to but I also enjoyed the Tri-state Rodeo me and my family went to see this past year. So I guess I enjoy both! :)
