Peach Cobbler Receipe
Anybodyhave a good, simple receipe for peach cobbler? I'd love to hear what ya all might have.
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
2/3 cup milk
3 cups fruit, fresh or canned
Preheat 350 degree oven.
Melt butter in pan. I use an 8 or 10 inch cast iron skillet. Just depends on how thick you like it. Most of the time I use a 12" and double the recipe.
Mix dry ingredients together then stir in milk.
Pour over melted butter.
Put fruit on top. Sprinkle with white or brown sugar and a touch of nutmeg. You can also drizzle molasses over the top.
Bake for 30 - 40 minutes.
I would love a peach cobbler recipe my grandma used to make it when I was younger, it was so delicious.
Location
I've got 4-5 peach trees in the yard that produce AMAZING peaches! Here's my recipe
6 C sliced peaches 1/4 C water 1 1/2 C sugar
3 Tbsp flour 1/4 C Sugar
pinch allspice and nutmeg
pinch of cinnamon and salt
TOPPING:
1 C flour 1/2 C sugar
1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder
3/4 C milk
Boil first 3 ingredients until peaches are slightly broken down with some loose skins. Add second set of ingredients, stirring constantly until it reaches a pie filling consistency.
Poor into 8x10 pan. Make batter (topping). Put on top of peach mixture and bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes, until topping is lightly browned.
Location
Just used your recipe, and the cobbler came out great! - the way things are going, one spoonful at a time seems to be missing here and there, I don't think it will makeit to suppertime.
I wish I could bake!
Mix 3/4 Cup Sugar, 1 stick butter, 3/4 cup flour and 3/4 cup oatmeal.
Put half of above mixture in baking dish.
Add peaches (or any fruit), small amount of juice, 1/4 cup sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon.

1 cup milk
Mix together and pour on top of peaches. Melt 1/2 stick of butter and pour on top. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes or until crust is brown .
You can use canned peaches or if you want to use fresh peaches, put them in a boiler with some sugar and cook them a few minutes until they are tender and juicy.
Hello everyone. This is my first time here. I got the American Cowboy magazine for my hubby. He's not the forum type.
Anyway, I have a wonderful recipe for peach cobbler. You'll love it! The thing that makes this so good is the butter and sugar combine around the edges of the pan and caramelize! You will not be able to stop eating this!!!
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
pinch salt
1 cup milk
4 cups peeled, pitted and thinly sliced fresh peaches (5 to 6 medium peaches)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
several dashes ground cinnamon or ground nutmeg (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Pour melted butter in a 13x9x2 inch baking dish.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, 1 cup sugar, the baking powder, and the salt and mix well. Stir in the milk, mixing until just combined. Pour this batter over the butter but do not stir them together.
In a small saucepan, combine the peaches, lemon juice, and remaining cup of sugar and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Pour the peaches over the batter but do not stir them together. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden-brown. Serve warm or cold.
