Real Christmas tree or Fake Christmas tree
As I sit here on a chilly Virginia evening admiring my Christmas tree, it brought me back to the days in Dillon, Montana growing up and going out with the whole family to cut down the "perfect" tree. That term "perfect" is said with tongue in cheek. At times it looked a lot like the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. I have such fond memories of getting on the back of a snowmobile and heading out into the frigid temperatures and traversing the beautiful snowcapped mountains of southwest Montana for the "one."
We could never find the "one" before the fire was built and the hot dogs and hot chocolate had been consumed. It would not be a Christmas tree adventure without bringing along sleds or tubes to see who could perform the most horrendous wreck on the slope of a mountainside. I look forward to the responses to the question posed below. Until then, I will sit back with a hot cup of cocoa and enjoy the wonderful aroma from my live Christmas tree. Thanks and may God bless each and everyone of your families during this wonderful time of year.
My question to ya'll is do you prefer a live Christmas tree or a fake Christmas tree?
I prefer a live tree over an artifical tree. This year we put up an artificial tree. It was fun when I was growing up loading up in the pick up truck with my dad, brother and usually a cousin or two and going to the woods to pick out a Christmas tree.

Since it's just the wife & me, and my kids and grandkids are far away, we just use a small tabletop fake flocked tree with attached lights. We can put it on top of a small table where the dogs (4) don't bother it, and still enjoy the spirit of Christmas without inviting disaster.
