Chris Ledoux Fans
I know there's a lot of Chris Ledoux fans out there, and I've seen a few here, so I thought it'd be a good idea to start a group so we can all gather and talk about Chris, his music, his life and his career.
So, let's have at it.
That not so popular song you love...

If you're a Chris Ledoux fan you know there's plenty of records out there, and you probably know the words to Copenhagen or County Fair by heart already. But this is about those songs the radio never played, those that never made it to the greatest hits stuff or those compilations. This is for the rare stuff.
Here's a few I love:
1. Rodeo Cowboy (from the Songs of Rodeo and Country LP)

Johnnyboy — Tue, 2011-09-20 14:32me and my buddies were all banged up after bronc and saddle bronc, sitting in the rain on an aluminum bench (well i was on the hood of my jeep, the engine was still warm) we were all ready to just call it quits because these guys from texas and OK were ruleing the arena but when they palyed that song ( i think thats the name of it) we sure felt better and when it was my turn to go out for my re-ride i didn't d any better but i sure felt great, felt like chris was there. Anyway, i face planted 'cause i tucked wrong and drove home with a bloody nose and a bloody tooth. chris probably alughed his head off at us.
Chris LeDoux Songs
Dandys Girl 69 — Thu, 2010-10-07 12:42The world lost a true orginal Cowboy the day Chris Died. I was deeply sadden when he passed away. My favorite songs are 5 Dollar Fine, For your Love and Bareback Jack. You could tell he was a cowboy first and foremost. He was a great muscian and entertainer and I had the priveledge of seeing him perform 4 or 5 times in the past years. Everytime I saw him his show got better and better and you could see that he truly enjoyed performing. God Bless Chris LeDoux

"Cowboy Up" chords
Flunky — Mon, 2010-06-07 19:59I'm doing this because this one song seems to be impossible to find, so I took the time to sit down and figure out the chord progression for it, not hard at all. Enjoy!
(hard to format stuff here but you get the idea)
(standard tuning EADGBA)
INTRO:
G-C C G
G
I was the new kid on the circuit,
C
Gold buckles in my eyes,
D
But the horse i drew was plenty rank,
C--------------------G
In much to my surprise.
G
I did a double back flip,
C
And landed on my head,
D
This old cowboy limped out into the area,
C------------------G
Leaned over me and said.
CHORUS
C
You gotta cowboy up,
G
When you get throwed down,
D Get right back in the saddle,
G
As soon as you hit the ground,
C You've heard that the tough get going,
G--------------------C
When the going gets tough.
G
Well round here what we say is,
D--------------------G
Boy you better cowboy up.
G-C C G
By the end of my last season,
they said i was among the best.
So i proudly called the girl back home,
Hoping she'd be impressed,
But her mamma said that she married a guy that
I used to call my friend,
But before the first tear could fall,
These words came back again.
CHORUS
D
Well its not an easy lesson,
----C-----------------G
To learn in life and love,
A
But its the only way to go,
---D
Whenever you bite the dust.
