This 'Global Warming' is having fun affecting the weather patterns. The fronts have been both hitting and missing the Heartland, and then intensifying and kicking the snot out of the Eastern states. We're expecting another front coming thru Missouri in the next day or two.

That means that I have to keep playing the big round bale game with my equine family, and keep playing the no freeze drain the water line game for another month or so. I guess, as long as I keep them in hay, and keep bringing them treats (oat & apple wafers are their favorites) they'll still love me. When I go out into the pasture I usually go equipped with a coat pocket full of treats. My young donk, Braying Mantis, has figured out that I put the treats in my left coat pocket, and If I don't offer, he goes looking. I'm going to have to break him of that habit.

I'm looking forward to St. Patrick's day, the official end of winter (in my mind) when I can get back to some productive work and training of my herd. Until then, it's haul the hay and drain the lines......
