Cowboy Pastor needed in SE Iowa
Goatmountaineer — Sun, 2011-07-31 08:01My Fiance and I are planning a wedding after being together for 3 years (I am 36 and she is a beautiful and never aging 30). We are really trying to make the wedding date on Labor Day weekend, the 3rd of September at Shimek in SE Iowa. We were already going to be there on a trail ride with our posse, so we just decided to do it last week while riding in the Black Hills. We dont want it to be one of them pretty, fancy weddings, but we want it to be perfect for us in a country setting with our close friends, family, and foxtrotters. We are both saved through Him, but we haven't done any of the classes that many Pastors require as this is pretty short notice and our schedules just dont allow.
I was hoping that someone on here might know someone in that area, (even if he rides a quarterhorse) who either lives in SE Iowa, NE Missouri or West Central Illinois.. I could use a little guidance in this.
American Fellowship of Cowboy Churchs
mwest1117 — Tue, 2011-01-25 10:42I'm new to this site but have subscribed to the magazine for about 2 years now. I would like to find out just how far the cowboy church has moved around in the last few years and about areas that would be interested. Texas has quite a few which is where the organization started as the Texas Fellowship of Cowboy Churches. There are currently at least 7 states with associated cowboy churches. I would like to hear back from anyone who has attended, would like to attend or who has heard of Cowboy church.

Riding for St. Judes
annieoakley — Sat, 2010-11-06 17:37Today I rode in a trail ride for St. Judes. The Cowgirl Drill Team usually sponsors this at least twice a year. One of the members has a camphouse back in the woods with lots of trails for riding. About 75 of us rode for about 3 hours. We ended the ride with a BBQ and all the trimmings.

Just a comment and hello
Gail at PFL Inc. — Wed, 2010-10-06 13:49I was cruising the comments and just want to add my blessings. I am a Paso Fino Rider who likes the western style. I know they don't seem to match, but since I don't pull down cows, I can't see any reason I can't claim to be a cowgirl just the same. I am also a born again bride of Jesus Christ. There are not too many horse lovers in our church so it is nice to connect with believers out on the trail. Just a hello and blessing to you all. My personal page on my web site says it all for me and my beliefs. http://pflus.com/Paul---Gail-Personal-Page Regards, Gail from PFL Inc. www.pflus.com

Being a Cowboy for Christ
Wes72 — Fri, 2010-04-30 05:22In my short time on this earth I have seen several different ways to worship our Heavenly hat Father. I have always noticed that between all of my cowboy brothers all over the country the feeling and the friendship is still the same. The code that we all live by is exactly the same. But, when I got around the cowboys that aren't of Christ you can really tell the difference. The code is gone and the feeling of brotherhood isn't there. Although I am a member of an organized church we still have the brotherhood and the code of old. The feeling that I get when I'm around my Christian brothers is so much more than that when I'm with my non-believer cowboy friends. I'm really glad that I'm not only a believer in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but I'm also a part of the biggest family of all, my cowboy's in Christ family. So.... to my Heavenly Father to whom I'm so thankful, My praise is to you. Amen!!!!!
Amen!
hmwilson — Mon, 2010-06-14 18:38It's great how you stand for Christ and know how to be a Christian in spite of being around non-believers. It says a lot for you but also, it sends a message to your non believing cowboy friends that you are something different and that will eventually rub off and gives you an opportunity to share Christ with them. Very cool. God bless you and all that you have to offer all the cowboys you hang out with!
Prayer Request
annieoakley — Fri, 2010-04-09 17:40We had a tragedy in our area this week. An 8 year old girl was run over by the school bus and was killed. She was crossing the street with several children, but was slower crossing than they were and the driver did not see her. That is all the details that have been given so far. Please pray for the family and the children who wittnessed the accident and the bus driver. They will need prayers and the strengh of family to get them through this tragedy.

Below is a saying that I
La_cowgirl21 — Wed, 2010-03-31 20:50Below is a saying that I heard from a friend. It just really touched me and I agree with it. Anyway just wanted to share with everyone! I loved it!
A woman's heart should be so wrapped up in the Lord, a man has to seek Him to find her.

Prayer Request
La_cowgirl21 — Fri, 2010-03-12 21:12Today in an area close to my community there was a tragedy that came to pass. A man killed his wife and five year old son before killing himself around 2:15 today. The mother-in-law somehow got a heads up and was able to get his older son off the bus before he could get to him. When the man realized that the son was not getting off the bus, he took his own life. I will never understand how someone can kill their own children. I pray that God will give this family the peace, comfort, and understanding they will need to get through this. Please keep this little boy and his family in your prayers. God is the only one that can heal this family's pain and fill the void I know they are filling at this time.

Sad
Cowgirl at heart — Sat, 2010-03-13 16:56I have to ask myself what is happening to our world. Yes, it does amaze me and make me sick to my stomach that anyone could do that to a child, let alone their own. Is saddens me to think that people think that their last resort is to do something like this, when there are so many place that people can go for help that are non-profit.
My thought and prayers will be with that family

Cowboy Cook — Thu, 2010-03-11 15:14This morning while we were having coffee...Jean told me that last night she was laying in bed and she felt this darkness that she has been feeling...lifted from her.
She still had the pain, but she have a feeling of ease and the feeling that everything is going to be okay. It was a feeling of peace.
Again, thank you for your prayers...

Hi Will, My husband, Jerry
pbrchumps2 — Fri, 2010-04-30 05:57Hi Will,
My husband, Jerry and I, are new to this website. but, I saw your prayer request on here for your wifes eye's and wondered how she is doing. Before I forget, both my husband and I are named Jerri. I spell my name with an "i" and he spells his name with a "y." Just wanted to let you know, sometimes people get confused as to who they are getting an email from. Last August, my husband had emergency eye surgery because he had a detacted retina. He had to sit in a chair, it looked like a massage chair, with his face down, for 1 week. He was able to get up at 15 minute intervoles. And, he had to sleep in the same postion. He bout went nuts! But, I wasn't emailing you about him, I really wanted to know how your wife is. Is she better now, are her eye's healed? And, you said you had to move down hill, were you able to move back up hill, where ever that was/is? God bless you and I/we, hope to hear from you.
That is awesome! Its amazing
La_cowgirl21 — Thu, 2010-03-11 16:47That is awesome! Its amazing how much comfort we receive when we put our trust in Jesus!

Feeling Better...
Cowboy Cook — Wed, 2010-03-10 14:30Thank you for your Prayers...Jean is doing better, pain still comes and goes. We had to move into town though. The Doc said the elevation plays a big part in the recovery process. Town is 1,000 ft lower than the house. So, here we are...the animals aren't to happy about it, but I'm running back and forth trying to keep everybody happy and healthy.
God Bless to 'all

Prayer Groups Work
Cowboy Cook — Mon, 2010-03-08 17:21Cowgirl at Heart, Jean appreciates you and your Bible Study Group. I conveyed your thought and prayers..."she replied "Prayers Do Works"...
I also appreciate all of you accepting this request through this forum...it seems it was sitting here and not much going on in it...
I think this is a good place to seek prayers, spiritual guidance, and to help those who need prayer to get through a rough time.
Thank you 'all...

The Chuck Wagon Cook
Cowboy Cook — Sun, 2010-03-07 12:40I posted this in the Cowboy Poetry Group and thought it would be very appropriate here as well.
The Chuck Wagon Cook
The chuck wagon cook, called “’Ol Cookie” by most
He’s the one that’ll feed you and be your host.
He’ll say; mind your manners when you come to dinner and sit,
“Knock off the dust, wash your hands…and please don’t spit.”
He’ll be your best friend and feed you like a king,
And later around the campfire Ol’ Cookie will sing.
He never talks much and he never complains;
He just drives the chuck wagon ‘cross the wide open plain.
He’s a humble man…that reads from the Good Book,
And he offers up grace with each meal that he cooks.
So listen to Cookie…listen to his words,
He prays for God to protect you in delivering your herd.
By The Cowboy Cook
1 Samuel 28:22
”Now please listen to your servant and let me give you some food so you may eat and have the strength to go on your way."

Oldcowboy — Sat, 2010-03-13 11:32In this life we all need a ol' Cookie to look after us.
