The ProRodeo Tour has transformed the sport.

The best of the best. What a concept. It’s the same success quotient used by every other Major League sport in the world.
And it’s working for ProRodeo. Born in 2000, the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour features the top contestants in professional rodeo at some of the richest, most prestigious rodeos in all the land.
The idea has been to divide the year into two tours, winter and summer, each spread across 12 rodeos. Cowboys and cowgirls are allowed to pick 10 stops at which their performances will count toward possible tour finale qualification. The Pace Picante ProRodeo Chute-out, held May 13-14 in Tulsa, Okla., sent the 2006 winter tour out with a bang. The top 12 tour-points getters in each of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s six standard events and the top 12 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association barrel racers took a run at $350,000 and a shot at this fall’s $470,000 ProRodeo Tour Championship Finale in Dallas, slated for Nov. 10-12.
The top four finishers from Tulsa, the top four from the $350,000 winter tour finale (the September 29-30 Summer ProRodeo Tour Finale in Omaha, Neb.), and the top four overall tour-points earners from all 2006 tour events combined will make their way to Dallas for the pivotal grand finale of rodeo’s regular season.
