Rocky Mountain Clothing Co. Appoints New Chairman and CEO

David DeanDenver-based Rocky Mountain Clothing Co., a division of Miller International Inc., announced the appointment of David Dean as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer.

Dean’s appointment coincides with his acquisition of a controlling interest in Miller International, Inc.  Established in Denver in 1919, Rocky Mountain Clothing Co. offers jeans and other western wear featuring fashion-forward innovation for men, women and children, through four main brands – Cinch, Southern Thread, Cruel Girl, and Rockies.

As the leader of the senior management team, reporting to the Board of Directors, Dean will lead the company’s overall strategy to position Rocky Mountain Clothing Co. as a premier retail provider to the western lifestyle market.  Dean also will retain his prior Chief Financial Officer title and manage the company’s accounting team.

Before joining Rocky Mountain Clothing Co. in April of 2006, Dean served as Director of Taxation for RMC USA, Inc., a multi-billion dollar supplier of building materials.  In 2002 Dean assisted in structuring the recapitalization of Rocky Mountain Clothing Co.  In addition to Denver-based investment banking experience, Dean has served in leadership roles for accounting firms Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche, and Price Waterhouse.

Dean earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Davis and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles.  He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Traveling hat salesman Phillip Miller founded Stockman Farmer Supply Co. in 1919 as a downtown Denver-based catalog company.  The company grew to become Miller Stockman in the 1980s and joined forces with Prior Company in the ’90s to form Rocky Mountain Clothing Co., a leading provider of time-tested western wear for men, women and children alike.  The company is headquartered in north Denver at 8500 Zuni Street.  For more information on the clothing brands, please visit www.cinchjeans.com, www.cruelgirl.com and www.rockiesjeans.com.
