Yee haw! Pull on your boots and dust off your hat! The 32nd Annual Hamel Rodeo and Bull Ridin’ Bonanza stampedes into Cocoran Lions Park July 5-8. It’s bronc ridin’, bull ridin’, ropin’, steer wrestlin’, and barrel racin’ as pro rodeo cowboys and cowgirls compete for prize money and the championship belt buckle! And the best part is that all proceeds from this event go to benefit organizations in Hamel and the surrounding area! Thursday, July 5 is Tough Enough to Wear Pink night at the rodeo. Fans and cowboys alike are encouraged to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness. For every ticket purchased for the Thursday night rodeo, contributions will be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for breast cancer research. The rodeo is held nightly at 7:30 pm. Saturday, July 7 boasts a matinee and Family Day, where all tickets are $7.
